| My weakness as a writer has always been character development. So, I'm not going to use this website to do the job for me. I'm going to share with you what was going through my mind as I created these characters and how sometimes people in your own life can inspire them. | |
| Javin | Javin is kind of the "every girl" in Alorya. For me, I have encountered so many women in my life who supplied that little touch that made her special to me. She is generally too scared to make the tough decisions in her life, but when the chips are on the table, she fears nothing. For someone, like my readers, who will only catch her in a brief moment of her life will see her at her peak. |
| Samadjaar | I took the concept behind Merlin, Obi Wan Kenobi, Gandalf and Dumbledore and put them in a precarious position. Every hero needs that mentor that brings leadership, wisdom and inspiration. Sam could inspire; he could lead and he is the wisest of the Jagadurah. If only he had a hero to offer these gifts. |
| Denirius | To everyone who has ever served in the military, this character was inspired by you. On the planet Earth, he would become the next President of the United States or maybe even a best-selling author. However, his destiny in Alorya is different. He is a cyborg and was once an elite soldier. He controls the droid army and their doesn't seem to be much left to him besides following orders. |
| Mercer | Mercer was the least personal, yet most fun character for me to write. He was a character I began writing in that Star Wars book ages ago. He was a Twi'lek Jedi Master being hunted by Lord Vader. Spies giving away the jedi position, he sent his apprentice Augen on a mission which would lead to his certain doom. Vader took the bait and persued Augen, shooting down his ship over Tatooine. The character that was Mercer, would later face Vader which as everyone who knows about the Jedi purge was the end of Mercer. |
| Braylor | Like Denirius, I was inspired by the military figures in my life to create Braylor. Braylor is different than Denirius in that he is a protector, while Denirius is a strategist. Braylor is a Haun faced with very little future. Like every military man I know, this isn't a problem for Braylor. Conan the Barbarian and Lennox Lewis were burned in my mind as the outline which I filled with this character. |
| Scarlett | Scarlett was my least developed character because she has been through some very frightening situations which I spent all my time trying to convey. By the time my manuscript was done, many people said of her, "who is she?" She plays the most important character in the book, but there is no introduction to her, on to her situation. Alas, I think I may have fixed that problem. |
